MATCH PREVIEW     

It is the final of the Major League Cricket 2023 before we move over to the Lanka Premier League and The Hundred, The Seattle Orcas shall look to continue their domination and win against MI New York. The Orcas have won all their games, barring one loss, and look in good form. They defeated Texas Super Kings in the Qualifier to earn their place in this game. MI New York defeated the Texas Super Kings in the Challenger to reach the finals. The two sides had played earlier, and the Orcas had won. The stakes are high, and both teams have some of the best T20 players, making this contest interesting.  

Seatle Orcas Preview      

Wayne Parnell’s side has had a good season. They didn’t start as the favorites in the tournament but have been the most consistent side. A 9-wicket victory against the Texas Super Kings in the Qualifier is a testament to their form and consistency. They had defeated MI New York in the league stages, and Parnell would like his side to repeat the same show in the title decider.  

Quinton de Kock finally hit form, playing a match-winning knock in the last game. It is great news for the side, and he will look to deliver a good start with Nauman Anwar. Shehan Jayasuriya has been consistent and will look to do well in the middle order with Shubham Ranjane and Heinrich Klaasen. The lower middle order has done brilliantly for the side, and they will expect runs from Dwaine Pretorius, Imad Wasim, and Parnell.  

Imad Wasim and Cameron Gannon have bowled tight spells in the series, and they must get early breakthroughs for the side to put MI New York under pressure. Andrew Tye has used the conditions well and will look to keep the scoring rate under check with  Parnell. They have variety in the attack, with Jayasuriya, Dwaine Pretorius, and Harmeet Singh on the side.

MI New York Preview      

Nicholas Pooran is leading the side from the front. They knocked out the Texas Super Kings in the Challenger game, winning it by 6 wickets. The batting line-up has done well in the last few games, and the team will look to take confidence from it. They face the most consistent side in this game and must be at their best to defeat them.  

Shayan Jahangir has played well and must deliver a good start at the top with Slade van Staden. Pooran must lead from the front and hold the innings together with Dewald Brevis and Tim David in the middle order. They have depth in the batting and shall expect runs from David Weise, Steven Taylor, and Rashid Khan.  

Trent Boult has picked 19 wickets this season and is the leading wicket-taker. He will look to deliver early breakthroughs in the game with Nosthush Kenjige. With his skills and variations, Rashid Khan adds an X-factor to the attack, and he must bowl good lines with David Weise in the middle overs. The side will expect good spells from Steven Taylor and Tim David in the supporting act.
